Everyone needs an estate plan to chose who will make key financial and health care decisions for them if they become incapacitated, appoint guardians for any surviving minor children, and control who will inherit their estate. Every plan includes a Durable Power of Attorney, a Health Care Directive (living will), and either a Will or Revocable Living Trust. In some cases, specific trusts are appropriate for tax management, asset protection, special needs, or other purposes.
